Flamanaris are a group of (most) herbivore Policaptas. Being a really diverse group, they occupy all Eden Valley and across the Abzul Belt. Since the Policapta are “cold bodied” creatures (partially thanks to the consistency of the climate on ANU), they present a series of specialized organs all along their bodies that accumulate and burns energy creating heat when needed. The Flamanaris take that to an extreme: they can heat air stored in the empty ossified “beak” in their mandibular head up to 60 °C for a second or two. In the cold raining nights of ANU and in the auroras or twilight, the flashing of heat is a common sight for communication between Flamanaris due to the pair of specialized infrared “eyes” on their mandibular head.
Small and fast. Like, really fast. you’ll never catch one. Oh yeah, six horns.
A very (very) weird antelope.
Sturdy and aggressive. A group can headbutt bigger predators to death.
Sorry for murdering the english language (corrections and suggestions are welcome)
you should add an "and" between "yeah," and "six"
I currently absolutely love ANU so far. I'm excited about the next entry, although I doubt I will see one soon since your most recent ANU post seems to have been in October.
And thanks! glad you like it
lucky you, one will come up today ^^
Will keep creating them for a long time, don't worry!
You manage to continuously blow my mind with every new upload
I also really like the diversity in just these three creatures! Even though they all share the same body plan and the same basic anatomy, they all look very different...
My favorite’s probably the Aelia malculovolex just because it’s so colorful and due to the more unusual shape of the beak... but it’s pretty hard to chose a favorite from such amazing designs
The little "photography" is also a nice little addition, it adds another layer of realism to it and gives us a small glimpse into the life on ANU
